![]() First-time mothers may find it difficult to differentiate between amniotic fluid, mucus plug, urine, and vaginal discharge. A small hole in the amniotic sac, it may lead to a slow fluid leak, which feels like the trickle of fluid down to the vagina. This is also known as a water break, and it usually happens when you enter labor. Knowing what i know now If I was in your position I would be telling them to deliver because he has more than a fighting g chance if born now and at least the.Signs And Symptoms Of Amniotic Fluid LeakĪmniotic fluid comes out in a gush when the membrane ruptures. Also don't let them use just a hand Doppler to monitor baby, they tried that with me. This is just my opinion, but they should be monitoring you twice daily, they can't say for sure what's going on inside. Those who shout loudest are the ones who are heard.Īt 33 weeks baby is still small enough to move around, but my son was the size of a 31/32weeker. And if you have to tell them daily that the baby isn't moving much to get them to listen to you, do it. My only advice is make your voice heard, they may be medically qualified but you know your baby and your body. he was a tiny little 4lb 1.5oz but absolutely perfect. ![]() I have to say the hospital were terrible at keeping us informed or advising us about what was what.Īt 35+6 they had me on the baby heart monitor and his heart rate kept dipping and taking ages to recover so I got an emergency c section as they believed he was compressing his cord. Reduced fetal movements also for days before the delivery. The next day I went for a scan and they noticed that there was very low fluid around baby, I can't remember the percentiles unfortunately. ![]() I went to my normal midwife appointment at 35+3 and I was admitted to the hospital with protein in my urine, and high BP also swelling on my hands and feet. Although no matter what anyone says, your going to worry. I had a perfect text book pregnancy and birth with my son five years ago, i thought this pregnancy would be the same. This is really worrying me tooĪnd this afternoon I have leaked more, and a white mucusy substance.not sure if I'm starting to lose my plug. In addition to this, everytime they monitor my baby's heart they have to get a second opinion on it because it doesn't show as many accelerations as they would like. It's still below the 5th centile however. ![]() If my baby is safe to come at 36 weeks I'd rather that than take the other risks with continuing to full term.Īll the midwives, doctors and the consultant who saw me while I was in hospital last week said I wouldn't go past 36 weeks, I'm just worried my consultant on Thursday will say otherwise because the fluid level has increased slightly. I am seeing the consultant on Thursday and having all the tests done again (except scan) where I am hoping she will tell me what she is planning to do with me and baby. I have read about the complications of carrying to full term with low fluid levels, compression of the cord and limb deformities where baby squashes it's own limbs, and I'm worried sick. My concern is that they will keep me going past 36 weeks. I looked at the paperwork when I got home I noticed that the level of fluid has ever so slightly increased from the previous scan (which is great that it hasn't gone down). I had another appointment today and they did another scan, and said the amniotic fluid is still reduced. I was discharged from hospital on Wednesday but have to go back every three days for baby monitoring, blood and urine tests, and was told providing I don't pick up an infection and don't go into labour naturally then they would like to get me to 35 weeks, possibly 36 weeks then deliver. I had experienced a couple of episodes of leaking but thought I had wet myself on a could of occasions (joys of pregnancy) I was given steroid injections for baby's lungs and 12 antibiotics to take every day for 10 days to reduce the chance of infection. I was then scanned the following day to find that I have oligohydramnios (low amniotic fluid). ![]() I am 33 weeks pregnant, and 10 days ago I was admitted to hospital with reduced movements, diohorrhea and a positive fibronectin test. I'm looking for some reassurance and advice please. ![]()
